Single loop geomagnetic module BIRCHER-Proloop lite 1.24VDC

Product Number:CO-ML-001

Technical parameters:

  • Operating voltage: 24VDC
  • Application scenarios: industrial gates, road gates and railings, car park facilities
  • Product Type: Single Loop Detector
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +60°C
  • Sensitivity: S1-S9 (9 levels, S4 default)
  • Special features: standard features
  • Protection class: IP20

Description:Vehicle Presence Detection: replaces the traditional “ground sensor coil”, which is buried underneath parking spaces or road gates. When a vehicle is parked or driven through, it will detect changes in the magnetic field and determine whether there is a “car” or “no car”.Trigger entrance/exit gate: linked with the gate system, automatically lifts the bar when the vehicle arrives, and automatically drops the bar after it passes through.Statistical traffic flow: record the number of vehicles entering and exiting for use in parking space guidance systems or data analysis.Anti-smashing protection: with the radar, it ensures that the road gate will not smash the vehicle when it falls.

Dual loop geomagnetic module BIRCHER-Proloop lite 2.24VDC

Product Number:CO-ML-002

Technical parameters:

  • Operating voltage: 24VDC
  • Application scenarios: industrial gates, road gates and railings, car park facilities
  • Product Type: Dual Loop Detector
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +60°C
  • Sensitivity: S1-S9 (9 levels, S4 default)
  • Special features: standard features
  • Protection class: IP20

📋 Frequently Asked Questions and Troubleshooting

The following FAQs and troubleshooting methods for geomagnetic modules will help you solve problems quickly.

1. Q. What is the principle of operation of the geomagnetic module? How can reliable detection be ensured?

Answer: The geomagnetic module works by detecting the presence of a sub-surface mountedinduction loopof inductance changes to identify metal vehicles. The loop and the capacitor inside the detector formLC oscillator circuit, when a vehicle enters the magnetic field generated by the loop, it changes the loop inductance, resulting in an increase in the oscillation frequency. The detector detects that this frequency change exceeds the set sensitivity threshold and outputs a relay contact switch. The optimum range for the loop inductance value is80-300μHLoop connectors need to be at least one per metreStranding 20 timesThe system is designed to ensure detection stability and immunity to interference.

2. Q. How do geomagnetic modules cope with mutual interference from neighbouring loops?

Answer: When multiple geomagnetic modules are installed next to each other, interference can be avoided in two ways:

  • ① Setting for neighbouring loop detectorsDifferent oscillation frequencies(A total of 4 frequencies are available:F1, F2, F3, F4);
  • ② Adopted for adjacent loopsDifferent coil turnswhich changes its intrinsic inductance value.

This solves the “crosstalk” problem and ensures that each geomagnetic module works independently and accurately.

3. Q. What could be the reason for the lack of detection response after installation of the geomagnetic module? How to troubleshoot?

Answer: Please troubleshoot in the following order:

  • ① Check loop inductance value: Measurement of inductance using a loop detector with an ideal range of80-300μH. If the inductance is too small (e.g. 1000 μH), the number of turns of the coil or the loop size needs to be adjusted;
  • ② Check the loop connection: Confirmation of loop connectorsMinimum of 20 strands per metreand the resistance is less than8 ohms(with connecting wires). Check the loop for shorts or breaks;
  • ③ Check supply voltage: Verify that the supply voltage is within specification (e.g. 24V DC -10% to +20%);
  • ④ Check the sensitivity setting: Sensitivity can be in the range of9 levels(S1 lowest to S9 highest) is adjusted within the factory setting of S4. If small metal objects are detected, the sensitivity can be increased appropriately or switched on.Automatic Sensitivity Boost (ASB)Function.

4. Q. What is the cause of false triggering of the geomagnetic module in rainy or bad weather? How to solve it?

Answer: Intermittent failures in the rain are usually caused by the following reasons:

  • Loop insulation damage: Breakage of the insulation of the loop or connecting wires, leading to leakage in humid environments. Insulation resistance should be measured (> for a test voltage of 250 V).10MΩ), if not up to standard the loop or connection needs to be replaced;
  • Joints are not waterproof: The joints between the loop and the connecting wire are not watertight. The joints should be completely sealed to ensure watertightness;
  • Loop trench water ingress: The sealant (asphalt or synthetic resin) is not completely filled or is cracked, allowing water vapour to enter. The sealant should be refilled to ensure water tightness.
